MASTER PHOTOGRAPHER

Condensed rules for this competition.See programme for full rules.

1) This comp is over two evenings.Members enter one print in up to 3 themes of 4.

2) Photos should not be more than 18 months old, and not appear in previous club comps.

3) Min size print is A4, all images to be mounted in max mount size 50cm x 40cm.

4) Work to be brought on night of comp. Marking by club members

5) The award goes to the photographer who has amassed the most points over two rounds.

Welcome Evening: a chance to meet up with old and new friends and
to see a review of last years work.
20th
Guest Speakers: PROTEUS is a select group of local South Devon
photographers who all have unique individual styles.

Guest Speaker: Sue Brown FRPS EFIAP Susan produces the most
wonderfully atmospheric photographs, especially in black and white.

Competition: Our first monthly competition with open themes.

11th
Critique Evening: One way of learning about photography is to study
the work of others as well as having your own work discussed.
We would like all members to bring in two prints of at least A4 size.
Experienced photographers in the club will lead discussions. R ( Raffle)
 
18th
Choose between two events:
1. Demonstration:Photoshop Elements for beginners.

An experienced member will show how to tidy up photos and create simple works of art!

(at the Courtenay Centre)

2. Battle: There is a 4 way battle between Newton Abbot, Ivybridge,
Kingsbridge and Plymouth (at Ivybridge).
Members need to choose whether they want to go to the Battle at
Ivybridge or stay in Newton Abbot for the Photoshop demo.

Guest Speaker: Andy Beel FRPS Andy is a member of the Kingswood
Photographic Society and has gained many gold medals for his travel
photography.

WCPF Print Critique Collection: a chance to see some of the best work in
the Western Counties. R

Master Photographer Part 1: This is a new competition to be judged
by the membership. Bring a mounted print, minimum A4 size, in
three of these four themes: movement, landscape/seascape, close-up, abstract. See the rules section for more details.

in the main hall of the centre. Andy is one of the foremost natural history

each please or four DPIs). This is a great opportunity for members to see how
they are progressing and how they could improve. R

Club Swap: Our friends from the Exmouth club will be showing work
representing their club members.

Master Photographer Part 2: Bring one mounted print in three of the
following themes: portraiture, natural history, architecture, contemporary
(contemporary typifies life today). Points will be added to those gained in Part
1 earlier in the year.
 
 
16th
FRIDAY : Club Swap: Newton Abbot will be going to Exmouth to show
them work from our membership.
 
20th
Audio Visual: Members will be showing AVs they have been working on
over the year. R
 
26th
MONDAY: Battle against Paignton and Torbay at Paignton
 
27th
Demonstration Evening: A talk by Fotospeed looking at printing papers and calibration. You can purchase papers on the night.

24th AGM and presentations: A chance for members to shape the future
of the club. There is no A.O.B. so if you have an issue you would like
to discuss then send it to the secretary a week in advance of the meeting.
