At the time of the 70th anniversary of the club, in 2012, a number of the members had joined Geoff and Jean Ashworth in competing in international photographic salons, following their long history of success in these events.  As part of the 70th celebration, Paula Graham and Alan Boothman, together with Trevor Ashford, created the South Devon Salon of International Photography, with Gordon Aspland acting as the Salon Chairman in the first Year.  Trevor then filled that role and maintained the links with FIAP, PSA, UPI, GPI, PAGB and the RPS for the next seven years, with Alan organising the technical backing.

The archive of all the successful images in the Salon, covering nearly a decade, is maintained on the club website, giving a source for the best competitive images of the time, worldwide.
